LOS ANGELES – Usher has made a fresh announcement: he will perform at the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show in Las Vegas.
The NFL, Apple Music, and Roc Nation announced on Sunday that Usher will perform at the halftime show from Allegiant Stadium on February 11. The Grammy-winning musician expressed excitement about performing on the NFL’s largest stage.
“It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list,” Usher said in a statement. “I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before.”
Usher shot to popularity with “Confessions,” which sold more than 10 million units in the United States and earned him eight Grammy nominations, three of which he won. Ray Charles’ final record, “Genius Loves Company,” released two months after the great died, won album of the year.
“Confessions” is one of the best-selling music projects of all time, spawning No. 1 songs like “Yeah!” with Ludacris and Lil Jon, “Burn,” and “Confessions Part II.” The silky smash “My Boo,” a duet with Alicia Keys, was included in his special edition version. The epic album will celebrate its 20th anniversary next year.

The singer, 44, is presently starring in his “Usher: My Way” residency in Las Vegas, which has drew sold-out crowds and glowing reviews. On Sunday, he will also kick off an eight-night run in Paris. Usher is slated to finish his Las Vegas engagement in early December before performing at the Super Bowl halftime show a few months later.
The singer has coached on NBC’s “The Voice” and has starred in various films, including “Hustlers” and “Light It Up.”
Jay-Z, the founder of Roc Nation, described Usher as the ultimate “artist and showman.”
“Ever since his debut at the age of 15, he’s been charting his own unique course,” he added of Usher, who debuted with his self-titled album in 1994. He’s recorded eight studio albums in total, with singles like “U Got It Bad,” “U Remind Me,” “You Make Me Wanna,” “Nice & Slow,” and “Love In This Club” alongside Jeezy.
