Following a medical update, the actor Tom Sizemore’s family is currently “deciding end-of-life concerns,” according to a statement Sizemore’s manager Charles Lago provided to CNN on Monday night.
“Today, doctors informed his family that there is no further hope and have recommended end of life decision. The family is now deciding end-of-life matters and a further statement will be issued on Wednesday,” the statement said.
“We are asking for privacy for his family during this difficult time and they wish to thank everyone for the hundreds of messages of support, and prayers that have been received. This has been a difficult time for them.”
Sizemore, 61, was hospitalized in intensive care earlier this month after experiencing a brain aneurysm. The statement from Lago stated, “Since that day, Tom has been in serious condition, in a coma, and in intensive care.”
Sizemore, a native of Detroit, had a small but early part in Oliver Stone’s 1989 film “Born on the Fourth of July.” At the same time, he had his big break on television as Sgt. Vinnie Ventresca in the ABC series “China Beach.”
Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, he made appearances in a number of popular crime and war films, including “Heat,” “Natural Born Killers,” “Pearl Harbor,” and “Black Hawk Down.”

His role as Sgt. Mike Horvath in the World War II film “Saving Private Ryan” is arguably his most well-known performance.
In the films “The Relic,” “True Romance,” and “Bringing Out the Dead,” the latter of which also starred Nicolas Cage and was directed by Martin Scorsese, Sizemore played other noteworthy roles.
For his work in “Witness Protection,” the actor received a Golden Globe nomination in 2000 for best performance by an actor in a miniseries or television film.
He made appearances in popular television shows “Twin Peaks” and “Cobra Kai” more recently.

Sizemore has a history of legal troubles throughout his career and a long history of drug abuse.
He was found guilty in 2003 of accusations of domestic abuse stemming from his union with Heidi Fleiss. He admitted to having a cocaine, heroin, and meth addiction to CNN’s Larry King in a 2010 interview, and he took part in the reality series “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew” that same year.
