Sheffield United and Blackburn
In a thrilling FA Cup quarterfinal on Sunday, Sheffield United defeated Blackburn Rovers 3-2 by coming from behind twice and scoring in stoppage time.
Aynsley Pears, the goalie, got a touch on Tommy Doyle’s shot with the score still 2-2 in extra time, but he was unable to stop it from going into the top corner.
Blackburn grabbed the lead in the 21st minute of a match between two second-tier teams fighting for promotion to the Premier League when they were granted a penalty for Jack Robinson’s handball following a VAR assessment, which was converted by Ben Brereton Diaz.
Seven minutes later, Sam Gallagher of Blackburn scored an own goal after Max Lowe’s long range shot deflected off the striker’s knee and went in the back of the net.
