Taylor Swift and Matty Healy have made quite a few headlines given the recent signs that the pair may be dating.
The dating rumors come just weeks after press outlets verified the 12-time Grammy winner’s breakup with her six-year lover, Joe Alwyn, last month.
Then, in May, the Sun stated that Swift is “madly in love” with her new partner, 1975 frontman, and will not keep their romance private.
However, before their rumored affair became public, and Swift were associated for a brief spell in autumn 2014.
When asked about his association with the Blank Space singer at the time, Healy appeared to become defensive and made an unpleasant remark about Swift.
“So the one time I did have a flirtation with a girl, it ends up going everywhere…. I mean, I got on E! News and people were like, ‘Who’s Matt Healy?’ so that was cool,” he stated in an interview with Q Magazine back then.
“But I didn’t make a big deal out of it myself,” Healy continued. “It’s not really anything to talk about, because if she wasn’t Taylor Swift, we wouldn’t be talking about her. She wasn’t a big impact on my life. It’s just interesting to me how interested the world is about Taylor Swift.”

Healy remarked that he wasn’t very good at relationships while talking about them. He also stated that he is afraid of losing himself in them.
Using Taylor Swift as an example, the British musician stated, “If I had [properly] gone out with Taylor Swift, the first thing I would’ve [thought] was, ‘F—ing hell, I am NOT being Taylor Swift’s boyfriend.’ You know what I mean, F–K. THAT.”
Then he continued, “That’s also a man thing, a de-masculinating, emasculating thing.”
