A former bodyguard has cautioned that there will be a “substantial” risk of terrorism surrounding the historic royal event of King Charles’ coronation.

Simon Morgan, a former top royal security, delivered the strong warning.

Between 2007 and 2013, Simon worked as a royal protection officer for the Metropolitan Police.

The former bodyguard told Express UK that a “vast” police operation will be needed to maintain everyone’s safety, including royals and passersby, during King Charles’ coronation.

“You have to consider everything from international terrorism all the way down to the single cause issue, and everything that goes in between those two scales.” Simon said.

King Charles will be officially crowned on May at Westminster Abbey.
