Jisoo from Blackpink shatters record before her solo debu
Jisoo, a member of the K-pop group Blackpink, has smashed the record for the most pre-orders ever received by a solo female artist. The release of her debut song and solo album is scheduled on March 31.
Jisoo’s solo debut album Me has received more than 950,000 stock pre-orders, according to a March 20 announcement from Blackpink’s management company YG Entertainment. She is the first female soloist to accomplish this feat based on these numbers.
“Considering that there are still 11 days left until the album’s release, it may be worth looking forward to [Jisoo] securing the title of first female K-pop solo ‘million seller.’” YG Entertainment added.
Jisoo will join the likes of Baekhyun from the boy band EXO, Jin from BTS, and Seo Taiji from Seo Taiji and Boys if she succeeds in selling one million copies.
