How to Use Open Broadcaster Software

  3. In the Scenes tab, click the “+” icon to create a new scene. A scene is a collection of sources (e.g., webcam, game capture, images, text) that you want to display on your stream or recording.
  4. In the Sources tab, click the “+” icon to add a new source to your scene. You can choose from several types of sources, including Audio Input Capture, Display Capture, Image, Text, Video Capture Device, and Window Capture.
  5. Configure your sources by adjusting their properties. For example, you can adjust the position, size, and transparency of an image source.
  6. In the Audio Mixer tab, you can adjust the volume of each audio source and add audio filters to enhance the sound quality.
  7. In the Controls tab, you can start and stop the stream or recording, adjust the bitrate and resolution, and choose the streaming service you want to use.
  8. Once you’ve set up your scene and sources, you can preview your stream or recording by clicking the “Preview Stream” button. If everything looks good, click the “Start Streaming” or “Start Recording” button to begin.
  9. OBS also allows you to add plugins and customize the software further. You can explore the options in the Tools menu and the OBS website to find plugins and themes.
